Calligraphy

What is Calligraphy?

Calligraphy is a form of decorative handlettering. It has been arund for at least 3,000 years. According to Merriam Webster's Dictionary the noun calligraphy means "artistic, stylized, or elegant handwriting or lettering," and "the art of producing such writing." With that being said, neat handwring is NOT needed to create calligraphy. It is more of art than writing, al, that is needed to create calligraphy is a pen, paper, and practice (as cheesey as it sounds).

What to know before starting Calligraphy

Don't compare yourself and your calligraphy to others. As hard as it may sound, everyone has a different style of calligraphy, just like normal handwriting.

High quility paper is way more important than a fancy pen. Truly calligraphy can be done on any paper with almost any pen, but if choosing between spending money on fancy paper or a fancy pen, paper will make more of a difference in the lettering.
